weaning woes

I wanted to find the enfamama's weaning guide that was sent to me but somehow.. when i need it, its not there. Searched high and low for it. Teachers at LV has been telling me, its time.. its time to wean him. And so, i did. At least i could remember that first foods must be given in the morning for 3 days, transfer it to the evening meal and introduce another food in the morning. And so for first 6 days, i gave ( and instruct the teachers ) to give Ilyas brown rice cereal. Then introduced pear puree in the morning, followed by parsnip, carrot and potato puree and now I'm introducing green apple. After this will be the pumpkin and carrot puree... all thanks to the convenient heinz jars. I will definitely not have time to cook his meals. But I think I should try this weekend. Will buy carrots for him. There's so much info there in the net but I don't have time to read! Its so frustrating. I just read some and downloaded some recipes. Hope to cook a meal for him. Now I gotta go sleep. Its almost 2 am in the morning..

Week 3

These few weeks, I'm trying to adapt to being a working mother. These few weeks, working life has been challenging cos of the late afternoons and feeling bad about leaving ilyas at LV. By the time I fetch him, its like almost 10 to 11 hours. At 7 am in the morning, he's the first baby to arrive at LV. By the time I fetched him at 6 plus, he's one of the few babies left. Sigh.. And then, just a short time of 'singing' together and he's too sleepy... Wish I can spend more time with him.

Interesting weekend

Hubby went for his knee surgery on Thursday, 8th Jan. He stayed 2 nights at the hospital. I visited him on Thursday and Friday. On Friday night, while Ilyas and I were sleeping in our own rooms, at around 4 in the morning, i heard loud knocking sounds. Went out to check and found out the living room was in smoke! Went to check on Ilyas. He's sleeping in his cot and then went out to see what's happening outside. Just directly 2 floors below, there were smoke coming out from the balcony. My neighbour's house is on fire. Quickly carried ilyas, grabbed my hp, car key and ilyas's bag and rushed out of the house. Stayed at the void deck for a few minutes before calling my parents in law. Sent Ilyas there and came back to the flat. The SCDF were already packing up by then but my whole house was still smoky. Went in to open the windows and waited downstairs, as advised by the policemen. While waiting, the first floor neighbour commented that i'm black from head to toe.. The soot covered every part of me. I wasn't around when they put out the fire and so i asked what happened. The neighbour said that the 3rd floor neighbour repaired their fridge and it exploded hours later in the middle of the night. I didn't confirm if its true but if it was.. how silly! The trauma i had to go through. I reported to work at 8am sharp that morning. Wanted to ask to be excused but couldn't find P so stayed til the official time - 11.30am. Haikal came to help me at around noon to clean the house. Hubby came back from the hospital at around 3 plus with Ilyas and FIL. He was very angry with the neighbour. I spent the whole weekend cleaning and cleaning. What luck!

Short one before I go to sleep.. Its been a long long day.

Hubby went to SGH early in the morning to have his knee operation. My In Laws sent him cos I have to work. Sent Ilyas, had 4 periods of lessons and then went to NYP to accompany 4 DYN. Guess who I met there? My long time friend, basheer! We had a lot of catching up to do! I think the last time we met was way before he got married. I can't even remember how long it is. COuld have been more than 7 years. Anywya, left NYP at around 5 plus. Drove to LV immediately to fetch Ilyas and went back to get his milk and diapers. He fell asleep, so i decided to stay til after maghrib. He woke up by himself and he looked hungry so i gave him his milk and quickly drove to SGH. Reached there about 8.10 and left around 8.50pm. Hubby looked ok. His room was too cold! I can't stand the wind. Ilyas and I were also very tired.. Sorry, dear! Couldn't stay long.. I'm going to have an early night. Must msg haikal tomorrow to come and accompany us here. Feels so weird.. just the 2 of us at home. Til my next entry...
