I almost get into an accident this morning on the way to Yishun stadium for sports day. Luckily the girl on the bicycle is unhurt... but it's just one of the many times that I get into a state of shock since I got preggie. I hope it'll not affect dear baby...
First of all, I didn't get enough sleep yesterday. was thinking about the extra class that my hod wants me to take next term. i'm already struggling with my current workload. Give me another class at my state, I'm not sure if i can handle it. Was thinking about whether I should just keep quiet and take up the extra class or voice out my concerns to him. Plus, hubby was still not back at 2am. He has shooting for a local drama and it ended so late. I can't sleep if i worry when he'll be back.
This morning, woke up at 5.30am. I'm sure I got only a couple of hours of sleep. anyway, went to fetch wani at the block. 6.30am. She wasn't there, so I thought, ok wait a while. 5 mins later, called but couldn't get through, msged her. Went out of the car to look for her around the area, she's not there. at 6.40am, suddenly i got a msg from her saying she's at the bus stop.. Now, which bus stop is that? well, maybe further up front.. Drove off slowly.. eh, where's the bus stop? I have to turn left already! My mind was busy thinking, trying to decide, should i make a u turn or turn left? Cars coming from behind, ok, turn left. Zebra crossing. I saw no one. and SUDDENLY right in front of me, there's a teenage girl on a bicycle, crossing! Now where did she come from?! I WAS SO LUCKY! She just fell off the bike with no injuries ( guess she was shocked too ) and there was no car right behind me. THEN i saw Wani at THAT side of the road... Oh goodness... I must count my lucky stars. Wani felt bad. I was too shocked to say anything not to make her feel so bad. Fetched Yati and sped to yishun stadium...
I learnt a lot. First, no matter how little sleep i get, my mind MUST focus on the road at ALL times if I'm driving. Secondly, be very clear when making arrangements.. Thirdly, look out for people who cycle on the road, especially when its dark. They can move very fast with a bicycle and they won't stop for the cars, it's their RIGHT of way.
